The Ownerships feature allows BrizoSystem to automatically calculate Non-Controlling Interests (NCI) and ownership-based consolidation results.
Purpose
Ownerships define how much of each subsidiary is owned by the parent company or other entities. By recording ownership percentages and acquisition dates, BrizoSystem ensures all group reports comply with consolidation accounting standards.
Enabling Ownerships
Go to Common Settings → Ownerships.
Switch on the Ownerships feature and click Enable.
The system will enable automatic NCI calculations across all relevant entities.
Setting Ownerships
Select the parent organisation and the subsidiary entity.
Enter the ownership percentage (e.g., 80%).
Specify the acquisition date — this ensures the system knows when ownership became effective.
Save the ownership details.
Automatic Calculations
Once ownership is defined:
BrizoSystem automatically calculates the NCI (Non-Controlling Interest).
Consolidated results reflect the correct share of profits and net assets between controlling and non-controlling interests.
If ownership percentages change over time, you can update them with the new acquisition dates, and the system will recalculate accordingly.
Key Points
Ownerships must be accurate for consolidation to comply with reporting standards.
Multiple ownership levels are supported (e.g., Parent → Sub → Sub-sub).
Adjustments flow directly into the consolidation without additional manual work.
Notes & Tips
Always verify the acquisition date when entering ownerships to ensure historical reports are correct.
Use this feature in tandem with the Organisation Hierarchy for a complete picture of your group structure.
Review ownership settings periodically, especially when there are mergers, acquisitions, or divestments.
